Glenn Howard, the gardener behind Prunadelica
Prunadelica is a one-person garden practice based in Cliftonville, Margate. Glenn is Royal Horticultural Society qualified and Garden Masterclass trained, and works on gardens across Margate, Broadstairs, Ramsgate and the rest of Thanet — arriving, as far as possible, by bicycle.
The planting is inspired by seasons, coastlines and community: the shapes of the chalk on the local beaches, the grasses that shrug off the sea wind, and the plants that keep giving through winter when the petals have gone. Schemes are dense, architectural and naturalistic, chosen so they need less from you every year.
Alongside private gardens, Glenn looks after the community garden at Hawley Square in Margate and has planted gardens for local studios and businesses. Sustainability is not a badge here — it is peat-free compost, home-made mulch, no chemicals, and plants that suit the place they are put.
